Growing demand for new sustainable solutions within animal health.
Vegan food. Lab-grown proteins. Increased awareness of the meat industry’s impact on the environment. With a growing number of reports in the media about these trends you could get the impression that the demand for protein from farm animals is declining.
But the forecasts from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization tells a different story. They predict an increase in per capita consumption of animal products in the coming years. And yes, it’s true that in the developed world, there has been a slowdown in consumption over the past two decades, but it still continues to grow. And others in regions, like Africa, have shown an increased per capita consumption over the same period of time.
And when global living standards gets higher and when the increasing meat consumption
comes at the cost of stressed production and negative impact on the environment, the demand for solutions to make it both efficient and sustainable is growing. This gives our venture Phytaxis and its lignin-based animal health products a good position for further market growth.
